Create and manage STACKIT Network Areas

  1. Open the settings of your organization in the resource manager.
  2. Navigate to Network Area
  3. Click on Create Network Area
  4. Enter a descriptive and individual name for your SNA, and click Next.
  5. Add one or several different Network ranges.
  6. Define a Transfer range.
  7. Add up to 3 default DNS name servers.
  8. Set the Min/Max and Default prefix length for Networks being created in the SNA. Read Create and manage Virtual Networks on how to create Virtual Networks.
  9. Click on Save.
  10. Wait until the status changes to Created.
  11. Next we need to navigate back to the resource manager and create a new Project that will be part of the SNA we just created.
  12. Enter a descriptive Project name.
  13. For Project type select Network Area.
  14. In the new field Network Area that should have appeared below from the drop down select the newly create Network Area.
  15. In the drop down for Billing Account select one that will be used for the project.
  16. Finally click Create which will create a new Project that is now part of the SNA we just created.
  17. Wait for the Project to be created.
  1. Delete all projects which are in the Network Area. -> Delete a Project
  2. Open the settings of your organization in the resource manager.
  3. Navigate to Network Area.
  4. Make sure the Network Area you want to delete has no attached projects.
  5. Within the options menu click on Remove configuration.
  6. Confirm the action by typing the Name of your Network Area in the text field.
  7. Next navigate to the Inactive tab where our Network Area has been moved to.
  8. Within the Options Menu click on Delete.
  9. Confirm the action by typing the Name of your Network Area in the text field and click on Delete.
