STACKIT Git is built to provide a secure, sovereign and fully managed git & dev platform in the EU. It’s designed to bring code, CI/CD, packages and collaboration closer together under your control. Below is a proposed structure and content.
Core Features
Section titled “Core Features”Dedicated Git instances & EU data sovereignty: Each customer receives a dedicated Git server instance hosted in STACKIT’s German data centers. Your code, metadata and artifacts remain within the EU, ensuring compliance with European data protection standards.
User management & collaboration: Invite and manage users - up to 100 per instance - and collaborate effectively in a shared environment.
Repository and artifact storage: Supports large codebases with generous storage limits - 10 GB of code file storage and 120 GB of additional object storage for artifacts and assets. Store binary artifacts or dependencies alongside your code for simplified dependency management and distribution.
Integrated documentation support: Each project can include built-in documentation areas, helping teams centralize information next to their code.
Reliable operations: STACKIT Git is designed for reliable performance and minimal downtime.
Integration with STACKIT tools: Integrate STACKIT Git into your existing workflows and automation using the STACKIT CLI or Terraform provider. You can create and manage Git instances as part of your Infrastructure-as-Code setups.
Transparent pricing: STACKIT Git uses predictable, flat-rate billing that makes planning development costs straightforward.
Use cases
Section titled “Use cases”EU-compliant code hosting: Ideal for teams and organizations that must ensure data stays within EU jurisdiction. Such as public sector, healthcare or finance.
Centralized development platform: Combine your code repositories, CI/CD pipelines and artifacts in one secure STACKIT environment to reduce latency and simplify integration.
Team collaboration: Host multiple repositories for different teams and projects while maintaining clear access boundaries.
Artifact and dependency management: Store and manage binary artifacts and dependencies alongside your source code, simplifying build and release workflows.
Infrastructure-as-Code integration: Use the STACKIT Terraform provider to automate Git instance provisioning and management as part of your DevOps pipelines.
Documentation and project onboarding: Keep project documentation close to your codebase to make onboarding and collaboration more efficient.
