Create and manage services

To create an instance you first need to login to the STACKIT Cloud Portal and login.

  1. On the sidebar click on Logme.

  2. On the bar on the top click on Create Logme. On the overlay fill in the needed data:

    Fill in the Instance name. You can stick with the proposed name. Also select an Instance version from the dropdown. For new projects always select the highest version available.

    Select a plan, that fit your needs. You can upgrade the plans afterwards, so it is safe to start with a smaller plan.

    Select a Disk Threshold. This threshold shuts down the instance for protection when the specified amount of data is used.

    If your service only needs to be accessed by STACKIT`s public cloud internal network, you can stick with the ACL. Otherwise you need to add the public IPv4 addresses of the servers which try to connect to Logme.

  3. After you configured everything to your needs, you create your instance.

    For cost control, you can see a price estimation on the right hand site. To finally create the instance, click on Order fee-based. The system will add your newly created service to the list of your Logme services. After a few seconds, your service state changes from Creating … to Active. Congratulation, your Logme service is up and running.

  1. On the sidebar click on LogMe.
  2. You see a list of all your instances. Click on the instance you like to view details for.

To edit the ACL, the disk threshold and the plan, do:

To change the ACL and the disk threshold, do:

  1. On the sidebar click on Logme.
  2. Click on the instance you like to edit.
  3. Next to Custom parameters click on Edit.
  4. Make the changes according to your needs and click on Save.
  5. Wait for the service to become READY again.

To change the plan, do:

  1. On the sidebar click on Logme.
  2. Click on the instance you like to edit.
  3. On the sidebar click on Plans.
  4. On the desired plan pane click on Change.
  5. Confirm the price and click on Order fee-based.
  6. Wait for the service to become READY again.

Deleting an instance is irreversible. It includes deletion of all settings and configurations made for this instance, all data stored in the service (if any) and all corresponding backups in the STACKIT cloud.

  1. On the sidebar click on Logme.

  2. In the list of your instances, navigate to the instance you want to delete. You can click the instance list entry to view details.

  3. In the three-dots menu of the instance select Delete.

  4. Enter the name of the instance and confirm with Delete

  5. In the popup dialogue, enter the name of the instance for confirmation. Your instance will be displayed for a few seconds with the status Deleting. After that, the instance will be deleted and no longer shown in the list.
