General Limits

Bucket name restrictions

| Name | Unique | Bucket names must be unique within the whole system. E.g. it is not possible to create a bucket with the same name within two portal projects |
| Length | 3-63 | Bucket names must be between 3 and 63 characters long |
| Characters | Letters, Numbers and hyphens | including upper and lowercase letters. |
| Characters | Dots | We recommend to avoid using dots in bucket names! Using IP Addresses as a bucket name is not supported! |
| Begin/End | Only letter or number | bucket names must start or end with a letter or number |
| Prefix | ”xn—“ | Avoid using the prefix “xn–”. All other Prefixes can be used if the follow the other naming rules |
| Suffix | ”-s3alias” | Avoid using the suffix “-s3alias”. All other suffixes can be used if the follow the other naming rules |
