Configure Google Workspace

This guide shows you how to configure a provisioned CSE instance in Google Workspace. For the full reference, see the official Google Workspace CSE documentation.

Prerequisites

Before you start, make sure you have:

  • A running CSE instance
  • The URL of your CSE instance

Configuration steps

Section titled “Configuration steps”

  1. Sign in to the Google Workspace Admin Console.

  2. Go to Data > Compliance > Client-side encryption.

  3. Under Encryption with an external key service, select Add.

  4. Enter the service name and the URL provided by the CSE team.

  5. Select Test Connection to verify that the service is reachable.

  6. If the test is successful, select Add service.

  7. After you add the service, configure the external key service settings.

  8. Select Assign to assign the external key service to your organizational units.

  9. Choose the organizational units where you want to enable CSE.

  10. Select the external key service you added.

  11. Choose the apps for which you want to enable CSE.
