STACKIT uses a transparent, usage-based pricing model. You are billed only for the resources you consume, with no hidden fees for feature activations. For detailed rates, refer to the STACKIT pricing list
CDN pricing
Section titled “CDN pricing”CDN costs are primarily determined by outbound data transfer (traffic) and the use of the Image Optimizer.
Pay-per-use traffic
Section titled “Pay-per-use traffic”You are billed exclusively for traffic delivered from CDN edge locations to your end users.
- No request fees: Transaction-based costs do not apply, regardless of request volume.
- Free ingress: Data transfer from your origin server to the STACKIT Network is free.
- Included features: Managed SSL certificates (Let’s Encrypt) and cache purging are available at no additional cost.
Global pricing zones
Section titled “Global pricing zones”Billing is calculated automatically based on the geographic region of the user requesting the data.

Image Optimizer
Section titled “Image Optimizer”The Image Optimizer incurs costs based on active usage duration.
- Hourly billing: You are billed only for the hours the Optimizer is enabled for your distribution.
- Cost cap: Monthly costs are capped. Once you reach the maximum amount in a billing cycle, further use of the Optimizer is free for the remainder of that month.
WAF pricing
Section titled “WAF pricing”Web Application Firewall (WAF) costs depend on your selected security tier and the volume of incoming requests.
Basic WAF
Section titled “Basic WAF”The Basic tier provides standard security rule sets and is included with your distribution.
- Request allowance: Includes a free tier of up to a defined number of requests.
- Overage billing: Requests exceeding the free limit incur charges based on predefined request buckets.
Premium WAF
Section titled “Premium WAF”The Premium tier provides advanced security capabilities and premium rule sets.
- Base fee: A fixed, recurring monthly charge to enable the Premium tier.
- Request billing: All requests processed by the Premium WAF are billed on a per-request basis in addition to the base fee.
WAF log fields are integrated into your existing CDN Logs at no additional cost, regardless of your active WAF tier.
