Core features and use cases
SQLServer Flex is built to give you flexibility, performance, and control when working with modern data. Here are the core features that make it a standout choice for developers and data teams:
Core Features
Section titled “Core Features”STACKIT SQLServer Flex provides a secure, performant, and reliable environment for running Microsoft SQL Server.
Self-service deployment and management: Quickly create isolated instances or clusters via the STACKIT Portal. Manage them with the dashboard or APIs, automate lifecycle management, and integrate with your workflows.
Vertical scalability and resource flexibility: Simply scale up your instance by adding more vCPUs, RAM or storage as your workloads increase, without the need for migration.
Instance isolation and security: Each instance runs on dedicated virtual machines for maximum performance and separation. All connections use TLS, and Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) ensures data at rest is protected.
Backup and restore: Automatic backups run regularly, with configurable backup times. Manual full COPY_ONLY backups and Point-in-Time Recovery (PITR) are supported (restores can only target new databases).
High availability: Business Critical plans leverage Always On availability groups across multiple nodes, ensuring resilient operations with minimal downtime.
Full-Text Search: Perform advanced text queries across large datasets using SQL Server’s Full-Text Search capabilities.
Use cases
Section titled “Use cases”STACKIT SQLServer Flex is designed for a variety of enterprise and application workloads.
Save complex data structures: Store high-performance, closely related data efficiently, making it ideal for applications with multi-table schemas and complex relationships.
Ensure data integrity: Guarantee data consistency by applying functional attributes to entire entries or individual fields.
Retrieve large amounts of data with high performance: Handle large datasets with optimized indexing and query execution, enabling fast retrieval for analytics and transactional applications.
