Endpoint compatibility

Zuletzt aktualisiert am

STACKIT VPN Gateway is designed to provide secure and reliable connectivity between your on-premise networks and your virtual networks within the STACKIT cloud. To ensure seamless integration and optimal performance, we have validated compatibility with a wide range of infrastructure setups and cloud-based services.

STACKIT VPN Gateway adheres to standard networking protocols to facilitate connections with diverse third-party vendors. Even if your specific provider is not listed in our primary documentation, your device or service is likely compatible if it supports the following technical requirements:

Also ensure supported ciphers in the IPSec and IKEv2 (Phase1 and Phase2) negotiations are compatible. A full list of supported parameters are listed in the Gateway and Connection options.

To establish a connection, you must configure your local device to match the parameters defined in your STACKIT VPN gateway. We have successfully tested connectivity with several major infrastructure providers and common software-defined networking solutions.

If you encounter issues while connecting your on-premise VPN device to the STACKIT VPN Gateway, follow these steps:

  1. Verify that your device supports the IKEv2 protocol.
  2. Ensure that the pre-shared key (PSK) matches on both your local device and the STACKIT Portal.
  3. Check that your local firewall allows traffic on UDP ports 500 and 4500.
  4. Contact your device manufacturer for device-specific support and configuration instructions.

Additional checks that can help solving connection issues are listed in the Troubleshooting section.

Our gateway provides a flexible bridge to other cloud environments. You can create stable tunnels between STACKIT and other cloud platforms to support your multi-cloud strategy. This ensures that your data remains secure while in transit across different network boundaries.
