Delete a distribution

This tutorial explains how to delete a Content Delivery Network (CDN) distribution in the STACKIT Portal.

Delete a distribution

Deleting a distribution is permanent and removes all associated protections. When you delete a distribution:

• You can no longer access your content through the distribution.
• The system purges all cached content, removing load reduction benefits for your origin server.
• The system disables associated security features, such as the Web Application Firewall (WAF).
• If your origin server lacks an IP allowlist or other direct security measures, it becomes exposed to direct traffic and potential vulnerabilities from the world wide web.

This action cannot be undone. Verify the affected origin URL and custom domains before you proceed. Ensure you have the required authorization to delete this distribution.

To delete a CDN distribution:

1. Go to Networking > CDN.
2. Locate the distribution you want to delete.
3. In the distribution’s row, click the More options menu (three dots) next to the Status custom domains column.
4. Select Delete.
5. Enter the origin URL of the distribution to confirm the deletion.
6. Click Delete.
