Create a distribution

Last updated on

This tutorial explains how to create a Content Delivery Network (CDN) distribution in the STACKIT Portal.

After you create a STACKIT project, you must enable the CDN service.

To enable the service:

  1. Go to Networking > CDN.
  2. Click Enable.
  3. Wait a few moments for the service to activate.

To create a CDN distribution:

  1. Go to Networking > CDN.
  2. Click Create distribution.
  3. Enter your origin URL or IP address. You can optionally include a protocol and port (for example, https://docs.stackit.cloud).
  4. Select at least one region to serve traffic from.
  5. Click Order fee-based.

You have successfully created a CDN distribution. The system automatically enables caching for your static content.

To continue configuring your setup, you can explore the following features:

  • Content Delivery Network (CDN): Add a custom domain and learn how to purge the cache of your distribution.
  • Web Application Firewall (WAF): Secure your distribution against common web exploits.

If you no longer need this distribution, refer to the guide on deleting a distribution. Please provide your feedback through the STACKIT Portal to help us continuously improve our services.
