Delivery methods
Last updated on
Find the right delivery method for your organization’s unique requirements. STACKIT Marketplace offers several ways to deploy and manage cloud-based solutions.
Software as a service (SaaS)
Section titled “Software as a service (SaaS)”SaaS products are ready-to-use software solutions provided by STACKIT Marketplace vendors. These products are hosted and deployed directly in the vendor’s environment. As a customer, you can use the software without managing or viewing the underlying backend resources, such as servers or databases.
Availability and provisioning
Section titled “Availability and provisioning”The time it takes to access your product depends on the vendor’s provisioning type:
- Synchronous provisioning: The product is available on-demand immediately after purchase.
- Asynchronous provisioning: The product is available after the vendor completes a manual setup.
Subscribe to a SaaS product
Section titled “Subscribe to a SaaS product”To start using a SaaS product, follow these steps:
- Select a SaaS product in the STACKIT Marketplace.
- Navigate to the product detail page.
- Select Subscribe.
For a detailed guide on subscribing to a SaaS product, please refer to our Purchasing guide.
You may subscribe to a specific product once per project.
Use a free trial
Section titled “Use a free trial”Some products offer free trial versions. Most trials automatically convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period. To avoid unexpected costs, cancel the trial before it ends.
Cancel a subscription
Section titled “Cancel a subscription”The specific vendor’s cancellation terms and the STACKIT Marketplace General terms and conditions apply to all cancellations.
Future delivery methods
Section titled “Future delivery methods”STACKIT is constantly evolving. The following sections describe deployment options and features we are currently evaluating.
STACKIT Application Images
Section titled “STACKIT Application Images”STACKIT Application Image products help you quickly install preconfigured operating systems and applications. Because a deployment often uses several STACKIT Cloud resources, a STACKIT Application Image represents a complete application stack rather than just one software product. Our goal is to provide you with a seamless one-click experience that requires minimal setup.
STACKIT Container Image
Section titled “STACKIT Container Image”A STACKIT Container Image is a custom container image or Kubernetes stack provided by a vendor. You can use these images on your own STACKIT Kubernetes Engine (SKE) clusters through several automation methods:
- Helm Charts
- Terraform
- STACKIT Marketplace deployment
Our Kubernetes solutions help you develop modern applications while increasing your scalability and flexibility.
STACKIT Server Image
Section titled “STACKIT Server Image”The STACKIT Server Image delivery type lets vendors deploy pre-configured server images directly to your projects. After you purchase the image, you select the target project. The system then deploys the server using a template provided by the vendor.
STACKIT Cloud Image
Section titled “STACKIT Cloud Image”The STACKIT Cloud Image delivery type allows vendors to deploy complete, pre-configured environments. These environments can include all STACKIT resources. Once purchased, you choose your project, and the system automatically deploys all resources using the vendor’s template.
Professional Service
Section titled “Professional Service”The STACKIT Marketplace provides vendor-specific Professional Services to supplement your cloud journey. These offerings connect you with expert knowledge for consulting, implementation, and training. Professional Services help you maximize the value of STACKIT products by developing tailored solutions for your business.
Professional Services can cover a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:
- Setting up cloud environments
- Planning and migrating applications or data to the cloud
- Cloud readiness assessments
- Security and compliance assessments
- Integration of cloud services into the existing IT infrastructure
- Software implementation, initial configuration and support
A Professional Service is a service-based offering without directly linked technical resources. This model allows you to purchase consulting or specialized support directly from third-party partners through the STACKIT Marketplace.
